New Technology at Memphis Airport for Persons with Vision Loss

Memphis Airport is now partnering with technology company Aira to offer their innovative service to persons with vision loss. Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) [airport] is also planning a pilot [project] and held a demonstration at a recent meeting of the Travelers with Disabilities Advisory Council. Aira fuses mobile and wearable technologies such as smart glasses with a network of trained human assistants to provide access to visual information and give navigational directions. Travelers must subscribe for $89 [dollars per] month but the airports pick up the [per-minute] charges for use onsite.
