OSERS Releases Updated Transition Guide for Students with Disabilities and Their Families
September 8, 2020
Source: U.S. Department of Education
The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) at the Department of Education has released an update of A Transition Guide to Postsecondary Education and Employment for Students and Youth with Disabilities. The updated guide adds information about dual enrollment in high school and postsecondary courses and the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act (ABLE Act), along with guidance on transition planning, options after leaving school, and related laws. The guide can help students and youth with disabilities and their families better understand how state and local agencies work together to facilitate improved outcomes and ensure that all students and youth are equipped with skills and knowledge to achieve their post-school and career goals.
