U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission & U.S. Small Business Administration
Description:
The U.S. EEOC Miami District, U.S. EEOC Birmingham District and U.S. Small Business Administration, North Florida District Office, are joining together on February 25th and March 11th to bring you valuable guidance and insight!
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, transgender status, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. The EEOC works to prevent discrimination before it occurs through outreach, education and technical assistance programs.
Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) works to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. The SBA helps small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream and is the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.
EEOC Outreach and Education Coordinators Elaine McArthur and Teri Peters will discuss helpful materials that can assist you in conducting your business more efficiently, effectively and within legal parameters. SBA Economic Development Specialist Natalie Hall will provide the latest information and resources on how SBA helps small businesses launch, grow and recover.
Don’t miss the opportunity to attend one of these upcoming events!
(Please Note: Both events [on February 25 and March 11] will offer identical content. For your convenience, this program is being provided on two different dates and times.)
