New Training Spotlight

• Campaign for Disability Employment Outreach Tool Kit

  A collaborative of leading disability and business organizations funded by ODEP recently unveiled a series of new products designed to promote the hiring, retention and advancement of people with disabilities and dispel negative stereotypes about disability and employment. The new products include posters and discussion guides to accompany the Campaign's “I Can” public service announcement (PSA), as well as other outreach tools, that can be ordered free of charge from the website.

• ADA Technical Assistance: Topic Guides on ADA Transportation

  These topic guides available as a webpage, PDF file, and Text file) bring together the requirements of the ADA and the U.S. Department of Transportation's ADA regulations, FTA determinations, and operational practices that comply with the ADA. Topics include:

  1. Equipment Maintenance
  2. Stop Announcement and Route Identification
  3. Eligibility for ADA Paratransit
  4. Telephone Hold Time in ADA Paratransit
  5. Origin to Destination Service in ADA Paratransit

  The Topic Guides are funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and developed by the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF) and TranSystems Corporation.
