June 3: Release of Kessler National Employment Survey Results

June 1, 2015
Source: Institute on Disability at University of New Hampshire

As we all prepare for the ADAs 25th anniversary, we will ensure you are equipped with the latest information on this most important topic− the employment status of Americans with disabilities. The Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), in partnership with the Kessler Foundation, has conducted a national survey focusing on employment issues for working age adults with disabilities. The primary purpose of this survey is to understand the mechanisms by which individuals with disabilities strive to work and the challenges they face in doing so.

Join the announcement in Person:
Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 12:00 1:30 pm
B-339 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Or on the Web with a Live Stream of Survey Results:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kfsurvey15

This survey was given to 3,000 people with disabilities who answered questions about their experiences in the workplace − the challenges they faced, as well as their successes. We expect the Kessler Foundation National Employment and Disability Survey to provide new information that will inform researchers, grant makers and policymakers, influencing the development of effective strategies for promoting long-term, meaningful employment opportunities.

Results of the survey will be released by Kessler Foundation on June 3. Please join us in the Rayburn House Office building room B-339, from 12:00 to 1:30 pm to hear panelists discuss the Kessler Foundation National Employment and Disability Survey, conducted by the University of New Hampshire (UNH). Or, please join us for a live webcast of the discussion at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kfsurvey15

This event helps Congressional leaders and representatives of the disability community learn about the survey firsthand from the experts at Kessler Foundation and UNH.

The live webcast and Twitter Chat will happen during the June 3 panel discussion. For updates, follow @KesslerFdn on Twitter #KFSurvey15.

An extension of this survey is still available online. This survey is open to individuals or family members of individuals who are employed or seeking employment. To find out more about the survey, go to: http://www.researchondisability.org/kesslersurvey
