Federal Transit Administration Seeks Comments on Americans with Disabilities Act Circular

February 19, 2014
Source: Federal Transit Administration (FTA)

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is seeking comments on the proposed four chapters of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Circular announced in the Federal Register on February 19. These proposed chapters include “Introduction and Applicability,” “General Requirements,” “Equivalent Facilitation,” and “Complementary Paratransit Service.” Along with the proposed chapter on “Vehicle Acquisition” published previously, these chapters are part of a series of approximately 12 chapters that will compose a complete ADA Circular. The Circular is intended to help transit providers meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation ADA regulations.

The four proposed chapters of FTA ADA Circular, along with the Federal Register notice, can be accessed on the FTA website at http://www.fta.dot.gov/legislation_law/12349_15846.html. We encourage you to submit comments for FTA Proposed ADA Circular on the chapters by visiting: www.regulations.gov. Enter Docket Number “FTA-2014-0003” in the search field. The comment period will remain open for 60 days (until April 21, 2014) .
