The internet will remain an important resource for many aspects of life: education, employment, government, health care, commerce, and more. As new and improved legislation is introduced, digital content accessibility guidelines are becoming clearer. Because PDF content is one of the most widely used digital formats to communicate information both online and via email, it is important to make sure that those PDF documents are truly accessible to everyone.

Unfortunately, many questions abound regarding PDF accessibility, testing, and compliance. Where does one start to understand document accessibility? How do we address it?

This session will give you a well-rounded understanding of PDF accessibility regulations, the risks associated with non-compliance (along with the benefits of making your PDFs accessible), and various options you can implement right away to improve the accessibility of your documents and reduce your legal risk.

Sessions are 90 minutes in length unless otherwise noted. Sessions are offered free of charge. All sessions are closed captioned via the webinar platform. The webinar is free, but advance registration is required. A certificate of attendance is available upon request once actual attendance/participation is documented.

All webinar sessions are scheduled from 2:00-3:30 p.m. (90 minute sessions) in the Eastern Time Zone (ET). The program is available in three formats: Teleconference; Streaming Audio via the Blackboard Collaborate webinar platform; Real-time Captioning via the Blackboard Collaborate webinar platform. All sessions will have a written transcript as well as a digital recording of the session archived after the event.

First time users will need to create an account. This step is done only once and you will use the same account to register for different sessions throughout the year. After you create an account, you will immediately be able to register for any of our sessions.

Continuing Education Recognition available: Certificate of Attendance (Free); AIA CES (free): 1.5 Learning Units/HSW; LA CES (free): 1.5 Credits; AICP CES (free): 1.5 Credits.

Continuing Education Recognition Available: ACTCP 1.5 credit hours; Certificate of Attendance: 1.5 hours.
