On the third Thursday of May, Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), while people may be interested in the topic of making technology accessible and usable by persons with disabilities, the reality is that they often do not know how or where to start. Awareness comes first — take an hour out of your day to participate in GAAD: experience first-hand the impact of digital accessibility (or lack thereof).

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)


Throughout October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) promotes awareness of the employment and contributions of individuals with all types of disabilities.

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD)

Third Wednesday of October and year-round

On the third Wednesday of October during National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and expanded to year-round, Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) promotes career development for students with disabilities and job-seekers with disabilities through hands-on career exploration and ongoing mentoring.


Veterans Day

and year-round

Throughout the year and on November 11, celebrate Veterans Day and "Honor all who served - In times of war - In times of peace."


International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 3

Worldwide on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD or IDPwD) is observed to promote awareness of disability issues and the abilities of people with disabilities, and celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities.
