EEOC and Bath and Body Works Settle Lawsuit

The EEOC and Bath & Body Works, Inc., announced on May 6 that they had settled the EEOC's lawsuit against Bath & Body Works for alleged disability discrimination under the ADA. The settlement agreement resolves a lawsuit filed by EEOC in federal court in Minnesota. The EEOC alleged that a former Bath & Body Works supervisor failed to hire an applicant upon learning that the applicant had multiple sclerosis.

The settlement agreement resolves a lawsuit filed by EEOC in federal court in Minnesota. The EEOC alleged that a former Bath & Body Works supervisor failed to hire an applicant upon learning that the applicant had multiple sclerosis. Bath & Body Works, Inc. agreed to pay the aggrieved applicant $30,000 to settle. In addition, they agreed to post a notice about the settlement in their human resources department, continue training managers as to their responsibilities under ADA, and affirmed their commitment to abide by the provisions of ADA.
