July 21, 2016

National Disability Institute (NDI) and Wells Fargo have joined forces to offer financial education at American Job Centers (AJC) across the country. Join us for a webinar on the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to learn how Wells Fargos award-winning Hands on Banking program will benefit people of all abilities at American Job Centers. The webinar, "Integrating Financial Education into American Job Centers," will feature key executives from NDI and Wells Fargo.

Hands on Banking/ El futuro en tus manos ( is a free, fun, non-commercial program available in both English and Spanish that teaches people in all stages of life about the basics of responsible money management, including how to create a budget, save and invest, borrow responsibly, buy a home, and establish a small business.

In the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Final Regulations, financial literacy is a required service in WIOA youth programs and appropriate for adults receiving individualized career services as well.

To help celebrate the anniversary of the ADA, we have included a link to a webinar viewing party guide that includes a fun, accessible activity to kick off your commitment to financial education and to support the ADAs promise of “equality of economic self-sufficiency” for all people with disabilities.

  • Kathy Martinez, Senior Vice President, Disability Market Segment & Strategy, Wells Fargo
  • Darlene Goins, Senior Vice President, Head of Hands on Banking, Wells Fargo
  • Elizabeth Jennings, Deputy Director, National Disability Institute
