Public Comment Invited on Proposed Rules to Require Federal Contractors to Provide Paid Sick Leave

The Department of Labor announced a proposed rule to implement Executive Order 13706, Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors - which requires federal contractors to provide covered employees with up to 7 days of paid sick leave annually, including paid leave allowing for family care.

The comment period closes on April 12, 2016 for the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). -- Note: The comment period was originally due to close on March 28, 2016. Because of the interest that has been expressed in this matter, the Department has decided to provide an extension of the period for submitting public comment until 11:59 pm April 12, 2016.
