Apple Highlighting Accessibility Apps to Celebrate Anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act
July 24, 2015
Apple has launched a page on the App Store devoted to showcasing apps that take advantage of the Accessibility features on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This section is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is then broken down into specific sections for different disabilities.
Regarding its Accessibility selection of apps, Apple says the following: "We are proud to have an App Store full of tools that improve lives. Using the Accessibility features on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, these apps help with everything from routine tasks to communication and language skills."
The Accessibility featured page on the App Store is further broken down into sections for Vision, Hearing, Speech, Learning and Literacy, and Physical and Motor Skill.
Apple last month promoted a section of apps that took advantage of VoiceOver and later showcased LBGT content in another section to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots. Apps included in this weeks Accessibility featured page include TapTapSee, Dragon Dictation, OneVoice, LetterReflex, Dexter, and a variety of others.
