Deadline for Disability Employment Tracker Extended to March 2

Now is the time to objectively and confidentially assess your company’s disability and veterans employment practices — at no cost.
The National Organization on Disability (NOD) has extended the deadline for its free, corporate self-assessment tool called the Disability Employment Tracker to March 2. Now in its second year, the Tracker provides policy explanations, compliance advice and real-world examples to educate internal stakeholders on opportunities for improvement.
The deadline to complete the 2015 DiversityInc Top 50 survey is also March 2.
For the first time, DiversityInc is partnering with NOD. The completion of the Disability Employment Tracker will be a strong consideration for the 2015 DiversityInc Top 10 Companies for People with Disabilities specialty list.
DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti had this to say about the partnership:
“I’m joining NOD’s board due to the organization’s long history of service to people with disabilities and I’m very excited about the Disability Employment Tracker, which we included in our 2015 DiversityInc Top 50 survey. I find it hard to imagine how we’re going to put a company on our Top 10 Companies for People With Disabilities list if they’re not using the Tracker. The bottom line is that people with disabilities have the highest unemployment rate of any other group, despite having a 10-point advantage on college graduates compared with the rest of the population. Corporations do themselves a fiscal service by having specific programs to employ, develop and retain people with disabilities. It is a key component of superior corporate governance.
Participation in the DiversityInc Top 50 survey is free. Each company that partakes in the survey receives a free report card, assessing its performance versus all competitors overall and in four key areas of diversity management: talent pipeline, equitable talent development, CEO/leadership commitment and supplier diversity.
Participation has increased each year since its inception in 2001. In 2014, 1,215 companies participated.
The 2015 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list will be announced April 23 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
